GREEN BAY, WI- (Wisconsin Radio Network) – A 17-year-old boy is now charged in a sexual assault on the East River Trail in De Pere. Miles Jimmy Cruz made his first court appearance in Brown County Thursday and was charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault causing great bodily harm, and three other felonies. Prosecutors say Cruz strangled a young mother unconscious earlier this month, beat her, dragged her into the woods and raped the woman. Investigators say Cruz threw the woman’s four-week-old baby in the grass. The victim’s husband found her when she didn’t return home from a walk. Court records show her D-N-A was found on Cruz’s clothing. He’s being held on one-million dollars bond.
