OCONTO, WI- A competency exam has been ordered for a woman who is accused of shooting an Oconto Falls police officer last month. Officer Nicole Blaskowski suffered a head wound, but she survived and is recovering at home. Twenty-eight-year-old Alisha Kocken faces several felony charges including attempted first-degree intentional homicide. The competency exam will be used to determine if Kicken understands court proceedings and can help with her own defense. Her next court hearing is set for October 14th. Her attorney has informed the court of plans to enter a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
