Cynthia “Cindy” Anne Monroe, age 60 of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Cindy was born on December 13, 1960 to Mary Suzanne Jung in Shawano. She was a mom to all, and her door was always open. She owned and operated a daycare for several years. Cindy was very caring and regularly put the needs of others before her own. She was funny, had a great sense of humor and could be a bit of a “smartass”. Cindy loved her family dearly. She loved to watch her children swim and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cleaning, decorating, and remodeling her homes. Cindy’s favorite holiday was Christmas, she enjoyed decorating her tree and village. She loved the Lord, loved life, and will be deeply missed.
Cindy is survived by her mother, Mary Suzanne “Suzie” Habeck-Schafelke; children, Rhea (Brett) Romberg, Brandon Laurent, Brock Belongia-Bayer, Nathan (Hannah) Monroe, Nicole (Mike) Beyer-Simon, April Kleczka and Sydnie Schaffer; grandchildren, Caiden, Kaleb, Jacob, Allie, Livie, Evelynn, and Vivien Rose; former husbands, Frank Laurent and Jeffrey Monroe; sisters, Linda (Jeff) Engel and Nancy (Greg) DeGrave; brother, Richard Bayer; foster parents, Lois and Dennis Thompson; as well as many, much loved foster and step siblings. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by brothers Robert Bayer and Dave Habeck.
A funeral service for Cindy will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Michael Kahl officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
