NEENAH, WI- (Wisconsin Radio Network) – Several people who were held hostage at a Neenah motorcycle dealership five years ago have filed a federal lawsuit. The group says Neenah police officers violated their Constitutional rights. Brian Flatoff was upset about his motorcycle when he engaged police in a standoff. During that standoff, officers shot Michael Funk to death. They weren’t charged and a federal lawsuit filed by Funk’s estate was dismissed. Five people who were held hostage sued the City of Neenah, Sergeant Angela Eichmann, Lieutenant Shawn O’Bre, Lieutenant Tyron Thompson, Officer Jonathan Kuffel, and Officer Marly Heiting. The five say they were treated like criminals, arrested, and detained after the incident was over. Flatoff was sentenced to 100 years in prison.
