Richard George Dillenburg, age 82 of Shawano passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at his home. Richard was born on July 20, 1938 to the late George and Anna (Stezenski) Dillenburg. On November 25, 1961 Richard was united in marriage to Barbara Schwan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. He was a farmer his entire life on the home farm. In 1982 the farm was honored with Century Status, one of Richard’s proudest achievements. Richard was heavily involved in his community, having been a member of many organizations: Shawano FFA Alumni, Knights of Columbus, former volunteer Rural Fireman, Equity Shipping Association Board of Directors. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports, including the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, as well as listening to Shawano Community High School Sports.
Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara; children, Scott Dillenburg of Shawano, Lorna “Lori” (Todd) Sherman of Shawano, Sheryl (Randy) Mallmann of Shawano, and Dean Dillenburg of Shawano; grandchildren, Brent (Megan Weber) Mallmann of Appleton, Amber (Dasch) Mraz, Jacob Sherman, and Nicholas Sherman all of Shawano; sisters, Dorothy (Ivan) Berndt of Shawano and Eleanor (Emerson) Hull of Shawano; siblings-in-law, Charles (Carol) Schwan of Marion, Fred (Sue) Schwan of Marion, Donna Krueger of Clintonville, and James (Elaine) Schwan of Marion. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Carl and Selma Schwan; brother, Roger Dillenburg; sister and brothers in law, Mary and George Salmonson and James Krueger.
A funeral service for Richard will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Valentyn and Msgr. Jim Dillenburg officiating. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
