
LoAnne L. Mac Murray, age 88 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at ThedaCare Medical Center – Appleton.
LoAnne was born on November 15, 1931 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Edmund and Dorothy (Hein) Laack. She attended school in Sevastopol and Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School with the class of 1950. Following school, LoAnne was employed as an operator at the Urban Telephone Company in Shawano. On March 8, 1952, she was united in marriage to Roger J. Mac Murray at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Following their marriage, LoAnne stayed home to raise her family. When her children were grown, she went to work as a cook at Evergreen Health Care Center in Shawano.
LoAnne is a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included cooking, traveling, and sewing. She enjoyed visiting the Black Hills in South Dakota, and Door County where she connected with many friends from her early high school years in Sevastopol.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Roger, of Shawano; her sons, David Mac Murray of Shawano and Brian (Laurie) Mac Murray of Lunds; four grandchildren, Melanie (Andy Nelsen), Michelle, and Myra Mac Murray, and Nicole (Adam) Clark; two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Anker, of Shawano. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Michael Mac Murray.
A funeral service for LoAnne L. Mac Murray will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Mark Drengler will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the hour of service.
Due to COVID-19, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing of six feet be followed while attending the visitation and funeral.
