NEW LONDON, WI – New London Police Department is offering help in the form of welfare checks for elderly neighbors and family that live alone in New London.
Police Chief Jeffrey Schlueter says the focus is on those 65 or older and those with pre-existing medical conditions.
The checks will be done by request and will take place between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday through Friday.
Officers will not be entering the home and all contact will be made from outside the home.
If an officer notices that supplies are needed or has additional concerns, the person who requested the welfare check will be contacted.
