Jennie May Gallert

Jennie May Gallert, age 78 of Morgan Siding, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away early Friday morning, March 6, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.

Jennie was born October 6, 1941 at home in Morgan Siding, a daughter of the late Clinton and Della May (Murphy) Grant. Jennie grew up in Milwaukee, and attended South Division High School. Following school she was employed as a waitress. On June 24, 1961, she was united in marriage to Alfred Gallert at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple remained in Milwaukee where Jennie enjoyed being a stay at home mom and housewife until 1969, when she went to work at Eagle Knitting Mills in Milwaukee as a supervisor. Jennie then went to work for EZ Paintr Corp., retiring in 1996. Following their retirement, the couple split their time between Wisconsin and Arizona. For the past three years, they have lived in Shawano.Jennie is a former member at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, playing golf, and making Christmas ornaments by hand with her great-grandchildren. Jennie loved celebrating Christmas with her entire family, whose attendance was required! She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Fred Gallert, of Shawano; her children, Linda (Bob) Wood of Oak Creek, Gary (Madelyne) Gallert of Milwaukee, and Laura (Will) Alverio of Bonduel; her grandchildren, Jessica (Scott), Kevin (Heather), Justin (DeDe), Amanda, Andrew (Rayanna), Ian (McKenna), Kaelynn, Dameon (Ally), Joleen (Brian), Steve, and Chris (Ashley); and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her goddaughter, Lisa Haehle; her brothers, Fred (Charlene) Grant, Randy (Billie Jean) Grant, Ray (Alice) Grant, and Clinton (Maria) Grant; sister-in-law, Kathy Grant, JoAnn (Ken) Urbas, and Janice (Ron) Boehler; brother-in-law, Jim (Sharon) Gallert; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jennie was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Grant, one sister, Debbie Skorie-Grant; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Jane Gallert.

A time to gather, remember, and celebrate the life of Jennie May will be held at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano on Friday, March 13, 2020 beginning at 4:00 PM with a closing prayer at 6:30 PM.
