SHAWANO, WI- Overnight parking is once again allowed on city streets in Shawano.
Police Chief Dan Mauel says once again, the overnight street parking ban was lifted a little early.
“As of March 1st residents could start parking on the streets overnight again.”
Chief Maule says there are different rules in place when it comes to Main Street, but those regulations are in place all year long.
Mauel says, however, it does not mean that winter is over yet, and people should still think about being courteous if Mother Nature strikes again.
“If it does happen to snow and you think we are going to get a lot, please do the snowplow drivers a favor and try to keep you car off the road.”
The city has restrictions in place during the winter months so plows can safely and effectively plow roads in the overnight and early morning hours. He says residents have been cooperative and asks for that to continue.
