GREEN BAY, WI – The daughter of a Marinette area State Lawmaker was sentenced Thursday for her role in a drug overdose death.
30-year-old Cassie Nygren was sentenced to 13 years in prison and 17 years of extended supervision as the judge upped the State’s request of 11 years confinement and 13 years supervision.
Nygren was convicted for the death of Jennifer Skeen in 2017. Skeen was six and half months pregnant when Nygren and her boyfriend Shawn Gray gave her heroin that was laced with fentanyl.
Nygren has already served two years of her sentence.
She is the daughter of Republican State Representative John Nygren who has used the incident to work on coming up with laws to attack drug abuse.
