SHAWANO, WI – A short but major power outage affected Shawano residents and businesses Monday morning.
“It was primarily West and everything North of Division Street and the West edge of Main Street,” said Shawano Municipal Utilities General Manager Brian Knapp.
He says some businesses on Main Street would have been without power.
Knapp says there was a problem with an underground vault in the city.
“It took them a little bit to find the problem. With all the snow cover, the underground vaults are hard to find, but their was evidence on the surface that something that blown.”
Customers north of Division Street and West of Main Street had power out for just under an hour.
“We believe everybody is back on,” said Knapp. If for some reason somebody is not, they should contact us right away so we can fix the problem.”
