
SHAWANO, WI – Friday marks the deadline for anyone wishing to take out papers for the upcoming elections.
As of this week, only incumbents have taken out papers.
As of now Mayor Ed Whealon is running unopposed for another two year term.
Rhonda Strebel is running unopposed in District 2, Lisa Hoffman is running unopposed in District 4 and John Hoeffs is running unopposed in District 6.
Friday also marks the deadline for anyone wishing to take out papers to run for Shawano County board seats.
As that deadline approaches, there will be competition for at least seven seats.
As of last week, Sandy Steinke has taken out papers to run against Steve Borroughs in District 5.
Kevin Barkow has taken out papers to challenge Milt Marquardt in a rematch from 2018.
Devin Krizan is looking to once again challenge Rosetta Stern in District 8 after losing to her twice.
In District 1, Deb Nofkee is being challenged by Daniel Poels.
Robert Krause is being challenged by Terry Tipton in District 10. C
urt Korth is challenging John Ainsworth in District 16 and in District 23 Ray Faehling is being challenged by Aaron Damrau.
District 14 Supervisor Peter Schmidt filed non-candidacy and nobody has taken out papers to run as of last week.
