SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Area Community Foundation has approved $31,260 in grants from its Shawano Area Fund. 16 charitable organizations received money.
Boys and Girls Club of Shawano- $2.500 to provide after-school childcare and activities for students.
Bridge The Gap, Inc- $1,940 -To support ten children on the autism spectrum with mentoring.
NWTC Educational Foundation- $2,500 to provide financial support for educational expresses of Shawano-area students who are single parents.
Safe Haven Domestic Abuse Support Center- $3,535 to finish the children’s playroom in the basement.
SAM25- $3,535 to purchase portable technology equipment which will be used for educational programming.
Shawano Area Historical Society- $1,500 to enable off-site speaking engagements, portable museum boxes and an oral history project.
The FRESH Project- $1,500 to provide a series of cooking classes and educational activities to the homeless, elderly and low income children and families.
Tigerton School- $1,250 to expand the district’s chicken coop that is used in educational programming.
Wescott EMSl $2,500 to help purchase a side-by-side UTV unit which will be used to reach patients in hard to reach areas.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin- Fox Valley- $2,000 to provide food donations to 11 food pantries.
First Presbyterian Church- $1,500 to prove financial assistance for families seeking childcare through the Kids Klub daycare program.
Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Inc. -$1,000 to provide leadership development programming and financial assistance.
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin- $1.5000 to provide general operating support for ongoing K-12 students in Shawano and Menominee counties.
Lutheran Counseling & Family Services- $1.500 to support mental health counseling sessions for Shawano-area clients who are unable to pay full cost.
Mission of Hope House of Wisconsin- $1,000 to provide 24/7 365 days a year shelter options.
Ronald McDonald House – $2,000 to sponsor a guest room at the Ronald McDonald House for a Shawano County family for two months.
The Shawano Area Fund is an endowment that accepts donations of any amount to be used to provide annual grants. The foundations volunteer committee selects grant recipients through a competitive application process each fall. The grant dollars come from the endowment fund and proceeds from the Foundation’s annual Harvest Moon Soiree fundraising event.
