SHAWANO, WI – Christmas came early for five members of the Boys and Girls Club of Shawano.
Those kids got to experience a special shopping spree with Green Bay Packer Safety Adrian Amos.
Nathan Young was one who got to shop with the Pack.
“We got to go shopping and I did not have to use money.”
Kim Lodewegen of the Boys and Girls Club said each of kids got $200 dollars to spend and all made it a number one priority to pick up one item in particular.
“All of the Boys and Girls Club of Shawano kids left with shoes and socks, that was their biggest priority,” she said.
Lodewegen added it brought a tear to her eye to see that excitement over something so simple.
“We wanted them to focus on themselves, some of the kids were hesitant to spend money, but I said, if you want it, buy it.”
Young came back with a whole new wardrobe.
“New pants, new shoes, new socks.”
Each of the kids got two autographs as part of the experience.
“I got my jersey signed because I wanted it signed,” Young said.
All together, Amos brought 15 kids shopping in Green Bay.
Shawano got to participate since they are connected to the Green Bay club.
