CLINTONVILLE, WI – The Clintonville Police Department teamed up with the Clintonville Fireman’s Association and some local businesses to help some kids do a little Christmas shopping.
“We took four kids shopping at the Clintonville Fleet Farm.”
Chief Craig Freitag of the Clintonville Police Department says they received some money to make a difference.
“They took the lists that family members helped them make and they were able to pick up some nice gifts.”
Freitag says that they also had pizza donated so the kids could eat after shopping.
He says being able to shop for their families when they otherwise would not have been able to was a real great opportunity and experience for the kids.
“The kids had the opportunity to buy gifts for their family members and gifts for themselves, he said. “They took the lead. The officer was just there to help them.”
Freitag says next year we want to make it bigger and take more kids.
