Very few details are being released about a Thursday raid on Rhinelander City Hall. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Justice were looking for evidence of tampering with public records and misconduct in office. It isn’t clear which individual is being targeted. City Hall was put on lockdown while search warrants were executed at about 9:30 A-M and the doors were locked for more than three hours. The Rhinelander City Council has been the object of a suit in the past for allegedly violating the state open meetings law.
