A 48-year-old Marathon County woman faces a felony charge of abusing an at-risk individual causing death. Investigators say Mary Tessmer’s 78-year-old mother died from a painkiller overdose and showed signs of extreme neglect. The autopsy of Mildred Costanza after her October 4th death found she weighed only 75 pounds and was severely emaciated. Tessmer says she didn’t take her mother to see a doctor because the older woman didn’t want to go.
