Heavy fog in the area Monday morning is being blamed for an accident involving a garbage truck and a school bus that left the truck driver trapped. Emergency responders had to extricate him after he slammed his vehicle into the bus. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says he didn’t see a stop sign due to the fog and failed to yield the right-of-way to the bus. There were no students on the bus at the time the accident happened in the Village of Richfield. The truck driver suffered only minor injuries.
