A Menasha man is sentenced to four years in prison in the September 2018 death of a toddler in an apartment fire. Thirty-year-old Vernon Williams was convicted of felony child neglect in Winnebago County. Williams admitted that he had been drunk and was asleep when a three-year-old started a blanket on fire. Police say Williams was watching three children at the time while their mother was gone and two of the kids escaped through a window. Firefighters found an 18-month-old child on the floor of a bedroom engulfed in flames. The boy died in the hospital four days later
