Congratulations to Deputy Patrick Gorchals on receiving a Heroic Acts award yesterday, October 29, 2019 at the Waupaca County Board of Supervisors meeting.
Deputy Gorchals was dispatched to a report of gun shots fired at an address on Bags Hill Rd in March of 2019. Deputy Gorchals responded and was informed that there was a victim with a gun shot wound in the foot.
Deputy Gorchals received information that there may be a hostage situation and determined a perimeter providing additional protection for responding deputies was needed.
The quick thinking and tactical actions of Deputy Patrick Gorchals prevented any further injuries or loss of life.
I am very proud of Deputy Patrick Gorchals, and thank you for your service to our department and the citizens of Waupaca County.
