
Sylvia Jane (Nelson) Roloff, age 92 of Shawano, passed away on October 11, 2019 at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. She was born on January 25, 1927 to the late William and Edna (Lund) Nelson on their family farm in Lunds, Wisconsin. She attended and graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1944. On February 10, 1945, she married the love of her life Harmon (Pat) Roloff in Navarino, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on June 7 2010.
Sylvia was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church (Stony Hill) and later transferred to St. James Lutheran Church (Shawano). She enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards, and listening to country western and polka music. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers play. She also spent many hours embroidering gifts for her children and grandchildren.
Sylvia is survived by one son, Gerald (Bonnie) Roloff; three daughters, Shirley (Louis) Paris, Donna (Gary) Hansen, and Luanne (Phil) Chart; ten grandchildren, Tim (Maria) Roloff, Scott (Cindy) Roloff, Craig Roloff, Kitty Liss, Dan Rapaich (Tamela), Mishelle Rapaich, Rob (Melissa) Gartzke, Sarah (Jesse) Wenz, Wendy (Ben) Gruselle, and Rainee Laurence; thirteen great-grandchildren, Harrison and Stella Roloff, Grace and Ginger Roloff, Stormy (Brian) Gale and Destiny Schreiber, Judah, Greta, Lilah and Evelyn Gartzke, and Rory, Noah and Grace Wenz; one great-great grandchild, Bailey Gale; one sister-in-law, Verna Raddant, and several nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; two brothers, Elmo and Leo Nelson; five sisters, Bernice Schreiber, Gladys Stark, Gloria Nelson, Lola Schreiber, and Vivian Schmitz; two sisters-in- law, Bernice Nelson and Ann Nelson; four brothers-in-law, Herbert Schreiber, Norman Stark, Frank Schreiber and Wally Schmitz; and one great-grandchild, Natalie Elise Wenz.
Funeral services for Sylvia Roloff will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Mark Drengler will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano.
