A Milwaukee man is facing several charges after he admitted burning a two-year-old with a lighter because he was mad at the boy’s mother. Thirty-year-old Lamont Powell is charged with child abuse intentionally causing bodily harm, mayhem and neglecting a child. The criminal complaint says the child was taken to Children’s Hospital September 23rd with first- and second-degree burns to his cheek, armpit, chest, and stomach. The boy’s father says Melo is recovering from the burns. Powell faces nearly 60 years in prison if convicted.
