The Shawano Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report of a man being gored by an elk. The department responded to a call that came in around 6:00 Saturday night of a man who was bleeding from a hole in his chest. Deputies went to a farm on Hwy 187, just north of the county line, and found a man with a wound in his chest. The man said a bull elk on his farm grew aggressive and attacked him. He was transported by Clintonville Ambulance to Appleton Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
