The University of Wisconsin has won a grant to create one of three regional dairy business centers across the country. Federal money will be used to provide technical and financial assistance to help dairy producers diversify and adapt to market trends. Centers will also be located in Vermont and Tennessee. The goal of the three-year initiative is to make U-S dairy farms more viable in a challenging marketplace. Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy is pushing for an additional 20-million dollars to support the three centers.
