Mary Catherine Hanes, age 72 of the Town of Wescott, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born October 24, 1946 in Oconto, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Marge (Messenger) VanHecke. She attended and graduated from Oconto High School. On October 2, 1964 she married her high school sweetheart, Terry Hanes, in Oconto. Mary spent many years working in the medical records department at Shawano Hospital. Outside of work, Mary spent as much time with Terry and the rest of her family as she could.
Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, Terry, of the Town of Wescott; her children, Steve (Amy) Hanes and Brenda (Jeff Christl) Hanes, all of Appleton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and eight siblings.
Per Mary’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.
