Loies V. Splittgerber, age 93 of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Care Partners Assisted Living of Appleton.
Loies was born on March 2, 1926 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late William and Tillie (Behnke) Bonnin. She attended and graduated from Bonduel High School with the class of 1944. On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Carl Splittgerber, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. The couple were blessed with 72 years of marriage. Loies spent those years as a house wife, and a beloved mother, grandma, and great grandma. She always had a set item that she would do certain days of the week through the years. One day she’d clean, another she’d do laundry, and others she would spend in her kitchen baking. She was known for her baking, and everyone was given some sort of baked good when they would visit. Loies also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and puzzles, but above all else she enjoyed spending time with her dear family. Loies is a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church – Town of Belle Plaine.
Left to cherish Loies’ memory are her daughter, Donna (Mark) Brehmer of Neenah; grandchildren, Andrew (Dayna) Brehmer of Oshkosh, Nicole (Scott) Larsen of Omro and Joshua (Melissa) Brehmer of Oshkosh; great grandchildren, Kyley Larsen, Noah, Alayna, Rachel, Haleigh and Reese Brehmer, and Blake and Deklan Larsen; and sister in law, Verneille (Donald) Berkhahn. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Carl, by only sixteen days; her infant daughter, Carol; her sisters- in-law, Viola Boettcher, Mildred Zeman and Ruth Seifert; and her brother George Bonnin.
A funeral service for Loies V. Splittgerber will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church – Town of Belle Plaine. Pastor Todd Jerabek will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the hour of service. Burial will take place in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery – Town of Belle Plaine.
