On September 21st we will be having the 15th Annual Mark Joy
Memorial Golf Outing, it has been ten years of our community
and friends coming together to make a difference in the lives of
the youth of Clintonville. After this year’s golf outing, we should
be over $120,000 in total amount raised at this event. My father
would be very proud of this event and all of those who have
participated through the years.
Since 2005, we have raised money to build the new stadium,
fund the start of the Clintonville Area Youth Football League, fund
the start of the Archery Program at the high school, and many
other programs. As I try and remember we have donated to
Clintonville band, Clintonville Youth Baseball and Softball, the
Wise Guys, You Grow Girl, Clintonville Running Club, Trucker sports programs such as football,
basketball, baseball, golf, wrestling, and this year we will add track to list of sports. These
programs have one thing in common, the people who have wanted our donations have become
involved in the golf outing in ways listed in the next paragraph.
It has been a remarkable 10 years and to be a successful event we need golfers, prize
donations and hole sponsors. Golfers for $75 will get 18 holes with a cart, a chance at hole
prizes, a great dinner followed by a DJ and a dance. Prize donations can be anything, we have
hole prizes but also have a bucket auction that has become one of the best in the area. Hole
sponsors are $100 and will have a sign on a hole and special mention during the event. Golfers
are encouraged to frequent the businesses who sponsor holes and donate prizes.
