Initial Information:
On Friday, August 30, 2019 about 11:30 p.m., Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call of a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 10 west of County Highway X and State Highway 110 in the Town of Weyauwega in Waupaca County. Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Weyauwega Police Department, Fremont Police Department, Weyauwega Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Gold Cross Ambulance initially responded to the scene.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that a pickup truck (34 year old male driver from Shiocton) traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes collided with a car (23 year old male from Oshkosh) that had been travelling in the correct westbound direction of travel in the westbound lanes.
Theda Star Medical Helicopter responded to the scene and transported the driver of the car to Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah. Gold Cross Ambulance transported the driver of the truck to Theda Care Medical Center of Waupaca.
Wisconsin State Patrol responded to complete a traffic crash reconstruction. Waupaca County Highway Department assisted with traffic control and detouring traffic. Waupaca Mobil Travel Center and Glen’s Towing responded to assist.
No further information is being released at this time while the investigation is still ongoing.
