The Shawano Landfill is closed indefinitely after an accident at the facility. Officials from Shawano Public Works say a truck was unloading debris when part of the load hit the main I beam at the main building, severing the I beam. Officials say the building has been compromised and a safety engineer is on sight to help develop a plan to get things running again. Normal garbage pick up in the city will continue as normal.
