Hear from experts around Shawano County about native plants and their importance for improving water quality.
SHAWANO –Shawano County Land Conservation Department, Waterways Association of Menominee and Shawano Counties, and Connecting Our Waters are hosting a shoreline restoration workshop on July 30 th , 2019 from 6-7:30 at Whispering Pines Retreat (W5335 Lake Drive Shawano, WI 54166). This workshop will focus on the importance of native plants, efforts being made around Shawano and Menominee Counties, information on what can be done at home, and will included a tour of the site.
Wild Ones – Wolf River Chapter will be discussing their work around Shawano County and the Wild Ones program. Connecting Our Waters and WAMSCO will talk about their programs and their work around Shawano and Menominee Counties, respectively. The Shawano County Land Conservation Department will discuss their cost share program for shoreline restoration projects and rain gardens. Finally, the caretakers of Whispering Pines will discuss their shoreline project and give a short tour of the site.
