Shawano County
Highway: WIS 22
Location: Between County B and Zingler Street & Main Street and County BE
Schedule: July 15, 2019 to November 1, 2019
Traffic impacts: Motorists should expect single lane closures and 10’ lane widths on WIS 22 between County HHH/Airport Road and County BE. Rusch Road and Madison Way will be closed at WIS 22 the weeks of July 15th and July 22nd due to the configuration of WIS 22 traffic and construction safety. Single lane closures on WIS 22 between Main Street and County HHH will begin on July 22nd. In August 2019, WIS 22 will be closed for three weeks to complete the railroad crossing, a signed detour route will be installed.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews will finish building the temporary diversion channel, begin demolition of the north half of the existing Murray Creek box culvert, curb ramp replacement on east Green Bay street and begin construction of the north half of the new Murray Creek box culvert.

Waupaca and Wood Counties
(Regionwide Culvert Replacement)
Highway: WIS 110
Location: Between Wolf River Drive and WIS 96 in Fremont
Schedule: July 8, 2019 to November 1, 2019
Traffic impacts: WIS 110 – Wolf River Bridge: Motorists can expect to encounter one lane crossing the bridge with temporary signals from July 8 thru mid-October with a maximum 14-foot width restriction.
Anticipated work schedule for next week: Crews will continue working on deck preparation of the northbound lanes on the bridge. Crews will remove the bridge expansion joints of the northbound lanes at the end of the week.
Waupaca County
Highway: WIS 22 bridges
Location: Wautoma – Clintonville, at bridges over:
(1) South Branch of the Little Wolf River
(2) Crystal River and
(3) Wisconsin Central Ltd. (CN) RR tracks
Schedule: May 14th, 2019 to August 2nd, 2019
Traffic impacts: Southbound lane closures on all three bridges. WIS 22 will remain open to traffic in both directions. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and temporary traffic signals.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week, crews will:
- Pave approaches at all three bridges
- Remove crash cushions and barrier wall with lane closures being maintained with barrels
- Deck sealing
- Removal of temporary traffic signals and temporary pavement marking tape at all three bridges
- Install permanent pavement marking and removal of traffic control items
Highway: WIS 156
Location: WIS 22 to Shawano County Line
Schedule: June 10, 2019 to October 2019
Traffic impacts: WIS 156 will remain open to a minimum of one lane of traffic at all times. Temporary traffic signals will be used on the bridge over the Wolf River.
Anticipated work schedule for next week: Crews will began removing bridge painting containment on the west half of the WIS 156 bridge over the Wolf River. Crews will continue grading and install surface drains by the WIS 156 bridge over the Embarrass River. Crews will continue replacing culvert pipes on WIS 156 between County Y and Ashley road.
OCONTO COUNTY
WIS 32 Mountain Resurfacing
Location/limits: WIS 32 from County AA to Parkway Drive in the town of Mountain
Length of project: 4.43 miles
Cost: $4.5 million. All WIS 32 projects under one contract: North Branch Oconto River Bridge Deck overlay, Mountain resurfacing, Mountain to Lakewood resurfacing.
Construction schedule: May 28, 2019 to September 2019
Description of work: This project includes milling and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt pavement, applying pavement marking, and installing centerline and shoulder rumble strips.
July 22 to July 26: Work suspended due to storm damage in the area.
July 29 to August 2: Crews will resume milling, paving and shoulder operations.
Traffic impacts: WIS 32 will be open to traffic during construction. Work will be conducted using lane closures and flagging operations.
WIS 32 Mountain to Lakewood Resurfacing
Project limits: WIS 32 from County W in the town of Mountain to Big Hill Road in the town of Lakewood
Length of project: 9.46 miles

US 41/US 141 Safety Improvements (carryover work from 2018)
Location/limits: US 41/US 141, Oconto/Brown south county line to city of Oconto
Schedule: July 30, 2018 to August 30, 2019 (2019 finishing work begins July 22)
Length of project: 11.47 miles
Cost: $2.35 million
Description of work: A section of cable guard will be installed in 2019 and maintenance will be performed on previously installed cable barrier. The 2018 US 41/US 141 safety improvement project included adding cable guard along 11.4 miles of highway from the city of Oconto to the Brown/Oconto county line. The project also replaced asphalt shoulders in the US 41/US 141 interchange and added shoulder rumble strips within the interchange.
July 22 to July 26: The contractor will install traffic control and erosion control devices. The contractor will then install cable guard along US 41 near Frog Pond Road.
July 29 to August 2: The contractor will continue to install cable guard along US 41 near Frog Pond Road. The contractor will also begin cable guard maintenance along US 41/US 141.
Traffic impacts: Motorists will encounter lane closures along southbound and northbound US 41/US 141.
Peshtigo Brook Wetland Mitigation Site
Location/limits: Along WIS 64 in the towns of Brazeau and Bagley.
Schedule: July 22, 2019 to September 2019
Length: 151 acres of phase 1; 284 acres of phase 3
Cost: $1.4 Million
Description of work: Peshtigo Brook Phase 1 was originally constructed in 2005 and requires modifications by directing more surface water into the site, utilizing shallow excavation in limited areas, and reseeding. The project is also constructing Peshtigo Brook Phase 3, which will restore historic wetlands through shallow excavation, grading, elimination of internal farm ditches, installation of fixed weirs, and seeding. A new culvert will be installed across WIS 64 to facilitate surface water drainage.
July 22 to July 26: The project started with the installation of erosion control devices. The contractor began excavation and grading of the site.
July 29 to August 2: The contractor will continue excavation and grading of the site.
Traffic impacts: Much of the work will be completed in agricultural areas with minimal impact to traffic. Marathon County
Highway: County WW (Local Project)
Location: Wisconsin River Bridge, Brokaw (Village of Maine)
Schedule: April 22, 2019 to May 22, 2020
Traffic impacts: Traffic is currently maintained on a single lane, 10.5 feet in width, on the existing bridge with temporary traffic signals. Half of the bridge deck will be removed and constructed. Traffic will be switched to Stage 2 on Monday, July 22. Traffic will be maintained on a single lane, 10.5 feet in width, on the new bridge with temporary traffic signals. The second half of the bridge deck will be removed and constructed.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Deck stripping, crack sealing and surface treatment application, concrete barrier, traffic control and pavement marking installation. Guardrail removal and deck removal.
Highway: WIS 153
Location: Andrys Lane to County J North
Schedule: July 8, 2019 to August 1, 2019
Traffic impacts: WIS 153 will be open to through traffic at all times for the duration of this project. The project shall be constructed under traffic with the use of flagging operations.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Milling and asphalt paving.
Highway: WIS 29
Location: Eastbound WIS 29 to northbound US 51 ramp (near Menards)
Schedule: Construction was rescheduled for completion by July 24. Schedule is based on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
Traffic Impacts: While working on the eastbound WIS 29 to northbound US 51 system ramp, the ramp will be closed, and traffic will be detoured along eastbound WIS 52 to northbound US 51. A posted detour will be available. Message boards are in place notifying motorists of the detour.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Contractor anticipates closing the eastbound WIS 29 to northbound US 51 system ramp on the morning of Tuesday, July 23 to perform repair work to the polymer overlay placed last summer. Work is anticipated to be completed by the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24.
BROWN COUNTY
US 41 Resurfacing (carryover work from 2018)
Location/limits: US 41 from Lineville Road to Norfield Road within the village of Suamico
Length of project: 4.75 miles
Schedule: March 2018 to August 30, 2019 (2019 finishing work begins July 17)
Cost: $13.02 million
Description of work: A section of cable guard will be installed in 2019. Polymer overlays will also take place in 2019 on the bridge decks for US 41/US 141 over Riverside Drive, County B, and the CN Railroad. 2018 work that is complete includes US 41/US 141 resurfacing, pavement repairs, asphalt pavement, shoulder grading, bridge deck rehabilitation at US 41/US 141 over Riverside Drive, US 41/US 141 over County B, US 41/US 141 over CN Railroad, Harbor Lights Road over US 41/US 141, and Norfield Road over US 41/US 141. The project also includes culvert repairs/replacements, median cable guard installation, beam guard replacement and new signing and pavement markings.
July 22 to July 26: The contractor will place fill in the median along US 41/US 141 between Riverside Drive and Norfield Road and begin to reinstall the cable barrier. The contractor will also apply polymer overlays to bridge decks.
July 29 to August 2: The contractor will continue to reinstall cable barrier along US 41/US 141 and apply polymer overlays to bridge decks.
Traffic impacts: Motorists will encounter off-peak lane closures along southbound and northbound US 41/US 141.
- On Saturday, July 27, the northbound US 41/141 on-ramp from County B will be CLOSED from 4 p.m., Saturday, July 27 to 11 a.m., Sunday, July 28.
- On Tuesday July 30, the northbound US 41/141 on-ramp from Velp Avenue will be CLOSED from 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 30 to 6 a.m., Wednesday, July 31.

Description of work: Reconstruct intersection. Re-route west side of Parkview Road 400 feet south of existing location. Change existing west side of Parkview Road into cul-du-sac. Construct slotted left-turn lanes.
July 22 to July 26: The contractor is finishing work in the stage 1B area (Ashland median). Work includes placing asphalt, landscaping, and signing. The contractor is starting work in the stage 2 area (Parkview Road new alignment). Work includes earthwork and storm sewer placement.
July 29 to August 2: The contractor will continue work in the stage 2 area (Parkview Road new alignment). Work will include storm sewer and earthwork.
Traffic Impacts: Ashland Avenue will remain open to traffic, with lane closures at times. Parkview Road will be open to traffic.

WIS 172/Fox River Bridge Painting
Location/limits: WIS 172 Bridge over Fox River in the villages of Ashwaubenon and Allouez
Schedule: August 6, 2018 to November 2019
Length of project: 0.75 miles
Cost: $7.833 million
Description of work: Blasting and painting of steel girders under the bridge. Temporary causeway installed in Fox River to allow equipment access to barges.
July 22 to July 27: The contractor is continuing to blast clean the steel girders and paint the primer coat of paint in spans 7 and 8.
July 28 to August 3: The contractor plans on continuing to paint the steel girders in spans 6, 7 and 8.
Traffic impacts: Off-peak lane closures on WIS 172 and WIS 57 (Riverside Drive). Continuous shoulder closures on WIS 172 to delineate containment system brackets on the bridge parapets. Flagging operations and various night closures of the Fox River Recreational Trail and Ashwaubomay Recreational Trail directly under the bridge. Boat traffic should be mindful of construction barge traffic and containment systems hanging below the bridge girders.
Waushara County
Highway: WIS 49 (NEW)
Location: Green Lake County Line to WIS 21 (Berlin to Auroraville)
Description: Work on 4.43 miles of WIS 49 will include pavement resurfacing by milling and overlaying with new asphaltic surface, culvert and end wall replacement, pavement marking, and centerline rumble strips to enhance safety.
Cost: $1,127,735
Schedule: July 22, 2019 to August 29, 2019
Traffic impacts: WIS 49 will remain open to traffic with intermittent flagging operations. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during daytime hours only. The driving surface may be gravel or milled at times during the culvert replacement and pavement resurfacing work.
Anticipated work schedule for next week: Traffic control setup, staking, sawing, erosion control setup, prep for lane shifts for culvert replacement, and culvert replacement approximately ¼ mile south of County X.
Portage County
Highway: Business 51
Location: Mac Arthur Way – Minnesota Avenue
Schedule: March 18, 2019 to Spring 2020

- Complete paving work in the new south bound lanes in the Business 51/County HH intersection

Traffic impacts:
- Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures and a crossover on each side of the bridge with traffic shifted to the eastbound lanes. One lane in each direction on WIS 66 at the bridge will be maintained during construction.
- A regulatory speed limit reduction will be implemented with the project. The speed limit will be reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph.
- Motorists can expect a maximum lane width of 11 feet within the project limits.
- Motorists should expect congestion and delays during peak travel times and are encouraged to find alternate routes.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Traffic switch to the eastbound lanes. Crews will start deck removal on the bridge.
