The Shawano School District School Board announces the selection of Randi Anderson as the next superintendent of the Shawano School District. Randi will begin her duties as superintendent of the Shawano School District on August 5th, 2019.
For the past two years she has worked as Superintendent of Pelican Rapids Schools in Minnesota. Prior to becoming a Superintendent, Randi has worked in multiple roles within central office. She has served as a teacher, coach, consultant, director of assessment, director of curriculum and instruction, supervisor of standards assessment and program improvement and as a director of personalized learning. Randi also worked for McREL, a regional education lab, prior to working in central office and brings that experience to her work.
She is passionate about student and adult learning, continuous improvement, k-12 education. The work of her teams has resulted in increased access and learning through research based instructional practice. Her passion strives to ensure each student has access, empowers students and staff, and opens new doors as learning is personalized.
Randi has also been active in statewide educational leadership. She was one of seven superintendents who represented Minnesota last fall at the Mid American Superintendents conference. She serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Moorehead State University. She is active in statewide educational leadership while also serving in local organizations such as the Pelican Rapids Rotary and as a board member of the Pelican Rapids Chamber of Commerce.
Randi holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of North Dakota and post-master’s administrative licenses from Viterbo University.
When asked, Randi indicated, “I am honored to be selected as the next superintendent of the Shawano School District, we are looking forward to becoming a part of the community. Our daughter is excited to be joining the Shawano community middle school as a sixth grader and meeting new friends as she makes this transition back to Wisconsin and Packer country. I look forward to meeting each of you and learning more about the district and the community in the upcoming months.”
