Shawano County Sheriff Deputies were involved in a high speed pursuit with a red Monte Carlo yesterday. The chase originated in Oconto County and Deputies took over when it entered Shawano County. The vehicle was not stopping at controlled intersections, and when speeds reached around 120mph Deputies stopped pursuing the vehicle. Later that morning Dispatch received calls from residents who had a young man show up at their door “banged up” and “bloodied” asking for a ride. Long story short…the driver that led police on the chase lost control and crashed. The driver was taken into custody and charged with Felony Fleeing along with other traffic violations including not having a valid driver’s license.
