Shawano County Library and the local chapter of Orphan Grain Train spent Wednesday morning boxing up books that remained from the Friends of the Library annual book sale that took place in June.
In about an hour, volunteers packed approximately 75 boxes, totaling roughly 3000 books. The books are destined for Southern Sudan, Ghana, and Liberia in Africa. Orphan Grain Train played a critical role in finding a useful home for materials no longer in use at the county libraries.
