When a driver crashed his vehicle in Madison’s downtown area, nearby police officers suspected he might be drunk — then things got a lot worse for the man. As he got out of his wrecked vehicle, he dropped several packets of cocaine in front of the officers. The accident happened at about midnight Sunday. The man’s name hasn’t been released, but he was taken into custody and booked into the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of O-W-I and cocaine possession.
