A Shawano County jury has returned a not guilty verdict in the trial of a Marion man accused of trying to strangle a Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputy. 45 year old Chad Kohel was found guilty of felony counts of strangulation and battery to a law enforcement officer. Sentencing for those charges haven’t been set. He faces 6 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the crimes he was convicted of. The defense argued that the state hadn’t proved that Kohel intentionally tried to kill Deputy Sandra Finger. Kohel remains in jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
