
McELRONE NEW PHS GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL COACH
Doug McElrone is the new head varsity girls basketball coach at Pulaski High School. McElrone was the head varsity coach at Green Bay East High School the past three seasons as well as the Head 16U coach for the Green Bay Purple Aces. McElrone will be familiar to some in Pulaski as he served as head PHS junior varsity coach in 2014. “We are very excited to have Coach McElrone back in Pulaski,” said PHS athletic director Janel Batten. “Doug brings a love for the game and passion for helping kids succeed and has a tremendous background in coaching basketball at various levels,” she added. McElrone replaces Jeff Charney, who has accepted an assistant women’s basketball coaching position at St. Norbert College, De Pere. Charney was head varsity coach for five years, compiling a 76-44 record and four winning seasons. “I’m excited to be back to where I started,” McElrone said, “and running a quality program.” McElrone said he already is familiar with several PHS varsity players through his former junior varsity coaching position as well as work with the Purple Aces. “I’m excited to compete at a high level in a great conference and against the top teams in the state,” he added. He will be assisted by Kurt Holewinski, a longtime Pulaski-area youth basketball coach.
ANDY BOCK NEW PHS JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS GOLF COACH
Andy Bock is the new head junior varsity girls golf coach at Pulaski High School. Bock teaches health and physical education at PCMS and has coached basketball, football and track in the PCSD at various levels and has a love for golf. He has taught in the Pulaski Community School District since 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical/health education and a master’s in educational leadership. “Andy loves helping kids succeed both in the classroom and on the playing field. His excitement is contagious, and we are thrilled to have him join the PHS coaching staff,” said PHS athletic director Janel Batten. Bock joins head varsity coach Sarah Kohls on the PHS girls golf coaching team. “I’m excited about his passion for the sport and the positive energy he will bring to the team,” she said.
