A three-judge panel of the 7th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a federal judges decision dismissing a lawsuit over the Ho-Chunk Nation’s Wittenberg casino. The Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans had argued against the expansion of the casino which had opened in 2008. The suit was filed in 2017. Federal Judge James Peterson decided the six-year statute of limitations had lapsed three years before the Stockbridge-Munsee tribe filed its legal challenge. The federal appeals court agreed Tuesday.
