If he is found guilty of sexually assaulting his former girlfriend in her home, a man from Merrill could be sentenced to more than 100 years behind bars. Forty-four-year-old Spencer Smith faces several felony charges in the incident which happened last week. Lincoln County authorities say Smith has several sexual assault convictions in another state. Smith is accused of going into the victim’s home and groping her. She says he broke her phone, pushed her into the bedroom and forced her to give him oral sex.
