The Shawano County Library will be presenting several sessions in upcoming months at state and national library conferences.
On May 2, staff will present two sessions at the Wisconsin Association of Public Libraries (WAPL) annual conference. The conference will be held in Rothschild. Paige Crawford and Nancy Hammond will present an “Escape Room Workshop.” The session will focus on training other public librarians in escape room planning and implementation. Crawford has been a library assistant at Shawano County Library for 3 years while Hammond has been a library assistant for 11 years. In the last year and a half, they have focused on offering escape room programming to our community, with nearly 2100 participants to date!
Mikki Moesch, Wendy Rosenow, and Kristie Hauer will present “Find Them Where They’re At (Patrons, that is!). This session will focus on planning and implementing library outreach events and community partnership building. Moesch has been a library assistant for 19 years, Rosenow a librarian for 7 years, and Hauer has been director for over 10 years. Each year, Shawano County Library participates in over 100 outreach events- activities that occur within our community yet outside of our libraries. In September, Moesch, Rosenow, and Hauer will be traveling to the Association of Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL) conference to present their session again to a national audience of librarians. The conference will be held in Burlington, Vermont. For more information, please contact the Shawano County Library at shawanolibrary.org or (715) 526-3829.
