Thirty-seven years after Barbara Mendez was killed, memories are hazy and some witnesses have died. An Oneida County judge is hearing evidence in the cold case murder trial this week. Seventy-year-old Robin Mendez is accused of the homicide. There is no jury for the bench trial — the judge will determine innocence or guilt. Barbara Mendez was killed at her job at the Park City Credit Union in 1982. The defense argues another man, Thomas Boze, killed her. Boze is dead.
