Patricia “Pat” Zillmer, age 85, of Marion passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.
The former Patricia Naomi Mitchell was born on August 12, 1933 in the Town of Union, Waupaca County, to Elwood and Rose (Grimm) Mitchell. Pat graduated from Clintonville High School in 1951. After graduation she was employed at Canning Factory and FWD Corporation, both in Clintonville; and later in life she waitressed at Northwinds Banquet Hall in Marion. Pat was united in marriage on November 8, 1952 to Wilbert L. Zillmer at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Symco. The couple owned and operated the family dairy farm in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, until 1990 when they retired and moved to Marion. Her husband preceded her in death on November 28, 1996.
Pat was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dupont. She served on the church council, was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher, and helped with the confirmation classes. Pat was an active member of St. Paul’s Ladies Aid serving as president and secretary for many years. She also volunteered with the election board for the Town of Dupont and the City of Marion. Pat liked music, playing piano and organ, especially gospel and country. She enjoyed singing with her sister on the WTCH radio show in Shawano. Pat’s favorite pastime was playing golf and cards. She especially liked playing sheepshead, pinochle, and Rummy 500 with her daughter. She always loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends.
Survivors include four children; Jeff Zillmer, Peggy (John) Davis, Bruce (Kris) Zillmer, and Kelly (Patty) Zillmer, all of Marion. There are six grandchildren; Scott (Jodi) Zillmer of Marion, Katie Zillmer of Neenah, Willis (Angela) Buss of Marion, Kasey Buss of Eland, Kyla Zillmer of Marion, and Kelsey Zillmer of Marion. There are three great grandchildren; Gavin Buss, Cameron Buss, and Lincoln Zillmer, all of Marion. There are two step grandchildren, Susan (special friend Brian) Schmidt of New Berlin and Jim (Nancy) Otto of Rhinelander; and one step great grandson, Justin Schmidt of New Berlin. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Delores (Russell) Miller of Hortonville; a special friend and confidant Bette Romberg; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willie, a sister Leola Roland, a daughter-in-law Donna Zillmer, an infant brother Leon, a sister-in-law Joyce Gruenstern, and a brother-in-law Robert Zillmer.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dupont. Pastor Karen Riemer will officiate and inurnment will be at a later date at Roseland Cemetery, Dupont. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, is assisting the family.
