Two teenagers stole a car Saturday afternoon and led police and sheriff’s departments on a high speed chase with speeds exceeding 125 mph before crashing outside of Shawano. A 17 and 15 year old took off from the Rawhide Boys Ranch, and stole a White Mercedes SUV from a New London residence starting the chase. This happened right after the New Dublin Parade, and they were clocked in excess of 70 mph traveling through crowded streets in downtown New London. The New London Police Department initiated the chase, and terminated pursuit after the vehicle left city limits. The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office continued pursuit until reaching Bear Creek. Shawano County Sheriff Deputies than took over the chase, as the teenagers hit speeds of over a 125 mph before losing control and rolling over near the intersection of highway E and Oakcrest Road around 6:30 in the evening. The teens were treated for non life threatening injuries. They are facing a variety of charges and are currently being held in a juvenile retention facility.
