Catherine R. Barker waived her preliminary hearing Tuesday in Shawano County Circuit Court and is scheduled to enter a plea on April 1. Barker, 22, of Shawano, is charged with the death of her 2-month-old child. She faces felony counts of neglect resulting in the death of an infant, failing to report the death of the child and attempting to hide or bury the corpse. Barker was found competent to stand trial March 4 after she was deemed unfit for trial in November. Barker could face a prison sentence of nearly 35 years .
