Elnora was born October 30, 1929 in Shawano, a daughter of the late Harold and Rose (Reetz) Carlson. She attended school in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School in 1947. On June 20, 1948, Elnora was united in marriage to Arleigh Roloff at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill. The couple were lifelong residents of Shawano. Elnora had been employed as a sales clerk at Spurgeon’s for 24 years. She was also employed at Zwicker Knitting Mills and Montgomery Ward, retiring in 1984.
Elnora is a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Shawano. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and fishing. In her younger years she volunteered extensively at St. James Lutheran Church. Her husband, Arleigh, preceded her in death in 2005.
Survivors include her children, Judi Bartels and Jeff (Mary) Roloff, both of Shawano; four grandchildren, Lisa Andreas of Sobieski, Dani (Nat) Hoeper of Oshkosh, Matt Roloff of Big Lake, MN, and Jeremy (Sara) Roloff of Milwaukee; eight great-grandchildren, Carson and Ava Andreas, Cadence, Brooke and Benjamin Hoeper, Marly and Laila Roloff, and Maddox Roloff; her brother, James Carlson of Shawano; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Roloff and Verna Raddant, both of Shawano; and many nieces and nephews. Elnora was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Ludvigsen; and her son-in-law, Tom Bartels.
A funeral service for Elnora E. Roloff will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Steve Conradt will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano in the spring. Visitation will begin on Friday at 10:00 AM and continue until the time of service. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred in Elnora’s name to St. James Lutheran School in Shawano.
