The Waupaca High School Field House is closed. Heavy snow damaged the roof trusses. The problem was discovered earlier this week, according to Waupaca Athletic Director Aaron Jenson. Jenson says they put the court-dividing curtain down on Tuesday, and noticed that it was dragging on the floor. Engineers came in Wednesday and found the trusses damaged. After conferring with the manufacturer, the school closed the field house until further notice, meaning all upcoming indoor practices for track, softball, and baseball, as well as phy. ed classes, have to be moved. Jenson says the district’s building and grounds workers will be trying to remove the snow from the roof. The cost of fixing the problem is not yet known. The field house is 19 years old.
