
Republican leaders were voicing concerns about Governor Tony Evers’ budget plans almost as soon as he stopped talking. Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Kaukauna accused the Democrat of proposing a plan full of “Madison liberal rhetoric and far-left ideas.” The Republican Party of Wisconsin says Evers would undo the state’s economic programs through his proposal which it says contains “massive spending increases, tax hikes, and reckless, hyper-partisan proposals. A press release accused Evers of trying to score political points with his base while gambling with the state’s future.
