Five people face federal criminal charges for allegedly illegally harvesting wood from the Menominee Tribal forest and selling it for more than $400,000. Arthur Fish, Derrin Webster, Chauncey Webster, Dugan Webster, and Melvin Caldwell Jr., are all tribal members who worked in the forest. Between January 2012 and September 2018, they allegedly cut more timber than they were authorized to and sold it. The material was sold to an unspecified mill, and the five split the proceeds, according to the indictment. No court dates have been scheduled.
