A man convicted of the sexual assault of a child has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Joseph Newton was found guilty in December. Outagamie County investigators suspect he sexually assaulted seven women in two counties and on the Menominee Indian Reservation. The 15-year-old victim in the current case told authorities Newton drugged her and repeatedly sexually assaulted her at an Appleton apartment. He was arrested in 2016 after being extradited from Canada.
