While City of Oconto turns 150 years old in less than a month, the party has only just begun. A kick-off reception is planned for March 11, the sesquicentennial of the city’s incorporation. The birthday celebration, tentatively set for 5 to 9 p.m. at City Hall, will include food, beverages and music. The Tourism Committee is also welcoming the public to get involved any way they would like, but is specifically offering a song and poetry contest. Contest rules will be released soon. The deadline is June 1. Judges will include members of the committee.
